Fall/Winter 2024, Issue No. 25: The Watchers

Inspired by Berger’s Ways of Seeing, this shoot explores the politics of looking and being looked at. “Men act and women appear” becomes both a point of departure and a provocation, shifting the balance of power so that the viewer finds themselves caught in the act of being observed. The imagery draws on lost-footage aesthetics, uncanny stares, and figures dissolving into shadow, creating an atmosphere that hovers between surveillance and performance. By blurring the line between voyeurism and subjecthood, the photographs unsettle the simple act of looking and transform it into a moment of discomfort and reflection.
